ELC - English Learning Centre

Viewpoints

“We have said for years that this type of educational service has been missing from Hungary” Mark Davies, interim Principal of an international school in Budapest

“ELC’s attention to getting the well qualified and experienced staff will make a big difference in children’s progress” David Clapp, former Principal of Britannica and Department Head at the British International School Budapest (BISB)

“The foundation teacher is not just an excellent teacher, but has real pedagogical skills. Both his personal and your entire school's approach towards the students and teaching English, is something that makes your institution really valuable”. Kinga Pall, mother of Beni aged 6.

The English Learning Centre will be a vital support for my 7 year old son. He attends a good Hungarian school but his English is well above his peer group and he will certainly benefit from regular contact with native English speakers in a learning environment.

“The results that the ELC teachers achieved just in a few month time, was much more than I ever expected. Hanna enjoys going to ELC, even after her long hours in the local Hungarian school. "My daughter joined ELC in October 2010. I was unsure at that time if it was the best time for my daughter to start learning English as well as starting the local Hungarian elementary school, however we decided to give it a chance.

The results that the ELC teachers achieved just in a few month time, was much more than I ever expected. The most important for us was, that Hanna was enjoying going to ELC after her long hours in the local Hungarian school. She never ever wanted to miss a class in ELC as she enjoys learning English. I view it as the greatest achievement as I never have to remind her to learn couple of new words or sentences in English as she enjoys so much learning English that she would do it by herself. The children in ELC are happy and self-assured they love going to the school and thoroughly enjoy learning English. The children in ELC are confident, carefree and naturally inquisitive, enjoy learning and making significant progress. The staff in ELC pays attention to special personal needs making sure the students can follow the curriculum.

I could observe Hanna's self-confidence gained in ELC just recently when I had to move to London for business reasons. While I was working in London I decided to send Hanna to a local British school, to give her the opportunity of practicing and developing her English in a native English speaking environment. The knowledge and self-confidence Hanna gained in ELC just over 8 month was enough for her to adapt herself in an English school where she improved her English.

I view ELC as a place where children beside learning English by having professional native speaking teachers also enjoys studying and gaining self-confidence”
